UPDATE (May 20, 2025):
FREMONT, Ohio (ADAMS) – Authorities are continuing to investigate a tragic accident in Fremont that killed three members of a Fort Wayne, Indiana, family.
Investigators say a 50-year-old woman and her 34-year-old daughter were walking across the Miles Newtown Bridge Sunday night with two girls – ages five years old and 14 months – when they were hit by a train.
34-year-old O Ny Zar, her mother, 50-year-old Ram Masan, and her daughter, five-year-old Intisar Mi died.
The toddler was recovered from the river below and is currently being treated at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. The body of the five-year-old girl was recovered from the river on Monday. The family had reportedly been on a fishing trip.
A spokesperson for the Norfolk Southern rail company says they are cooperating with investigators.

FREMONT, Ohio (ADAMS) – Two adults from Fort Wayne have been killed, one child was hurt, and another child is missing after they were hit by a train Sunday night.
It happened in Fremont, Ohio, between Toledo and Cleveland, and officials say the women killed were 58 and 38 years old. They are believed to be a mother and her daughter.
A 14-month-old baby is hospitalized in Toledo, and police are searching for a five-year-old child.
