The Outstanding Outreach and Communication award honors an individual, project, or program that uses information and education about the value of planning to create greater awareness among citizens or specific segments of the public. The Engage Fort Wayne online platform was launched in February 2024 and provides residents with a one-stop location to access information about ongoing initiatives and actively contribute their perspectives to the City’s plans and implementation.
The Engage Fort Wayne website changes how people interact with their local government by using a digital platform instead of traditional methods. It aims to make participation easier and more inclusive by combining online and in-person activities.
The Indiana Chapter of the American Planning Association advocates for good planning to make for great communities. The organization fosters better planning in Indiana by building public and political support for sound planning and providing our members with the tools and support they need to advance the profession.
