FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The FWPD says a 46-year-old man is facing charges of attempted murder and kidnapping after a ‘domestic disturbance’ Friday morning.
Police said that ‘suspicious circumstances’ led to a criminal investigation of the scene and homicide detectives responded.
Not long after, an adult male victim was located off Winchester Road. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The FWPD said the investigation led officers to the 6300 block of Bluffton Road where Marcus Merriweather was arrested.

On April 4th, 2025, at approximately 6:58 am, FWPD Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 6300 block of S. Harrison St in reference to a domestic disturbance investigation.
Due to suspicious circumstances surrounding the domestic disturbance, FWPD Homicide Detectives responded to the scene to conduct a criminal investigation. A short time later, an adult male victim was located in the 7500 block of Winchester Rd suffering from severe blunt force trauma.
Medics arrived and transported the adult male victim to an area trauma center where upon a medical assessment the male was found to be suffering from life-threatening injuries.
The facts of the investigation led Homicide Detectives to the suspect, Marcus Merriweather 46yo, and he was taken into custody by the FWPD Homicide Task Force in the 6300 block of Bluffton Rd. without incident. Marcus Merriweather is currently being held at the Allen County Jail on the preliminary charges of Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery, and Kidnapping.
