FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – While our area was mostly spared from the worst damage – over a million people are under weather warnings, and hundreds of thousands of people are without power after Wednesday’s storms. Allen County residents are among around 1.5 million people under flood warnings across six states issued by t the National Weather Service (NWS).
Our area is under a Flood Watch until Sunday
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says that operations crews are clearing drains and preparing equipment to close flooded state roads as conditions dictate.
Drivers are urged to follow “road closed” signs and barricades to avoid becoming stranded in flood waters. It is never safe to drive around barricades through high water – remember to Turn Around and don’t Drown. Downed trees and power lines will also be possible due to heavily saturated ground and high winds.
