DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced traffic pattern changes to the intersection of State Road 1 and County Road 40.
After a traffic engineering study, the decision was made to convert the intersection into an all-way stop-controlled intersection. Updates include stop-ahead signs, oversized stop signs, buzz strips, stop bars and temporary message signs to alert traffic of the changes.
The intersection changes are scheduled to take place on or after Wednesday, March 26.
The goal of the updates is to reduce the frequency and severity of crashes.
INDOT encourages drivers to use caution in the area while work is done to implement the changes. Drivers should also use caution after the changes are made as motorists work to adjust to the new traffic pattern.
