STEUBEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office says a man who has been on the run for nearly six months for crimes in rural Steuben County has been arrested in Florida.
Police say that Tyron Curtis Jackson was wanted for several charges, including rape and domestic battery. He was picked up by US Marshals on Thursday.

A wanted fugitive from Steuben County has been located and apprehended in Liberty County, Florida. On 03/20/2025 at around 11:30 am, 48-year-old Tyron Curtis Jackson was located and taken into custody without incident by the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the US Marshals Service. Jackson had been a fugitive for the past nearly 6 months after arrest warrants were issued by the Steuben County Courts in connection with three separate cases.
In one case, Jackson was wanted on 2 counts of level 3 felony Rape and 2 counts of level 4 felony Sexual Misconduct with a Minor. The second case yielded 1 count of misdemeanor Invasion of Privacy, and 1 count of misdemeanor Domestic Battery resulted from the third. All three incidents were investigated by the Sheriff’s Office, and had allegedly occurred in August of 2024 in Steuben County’s rural Steuben Township.
Jackson remains held in Florida at the Liberty County Jail awaiting extradition back to Steuben County, Indiana to face charges. This arrest is a culmination of a month’s long joint fugitive investigation by Steuben County Sheriff’s detectives and the US Marshals Service.
