FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Investigators are trying to determine what caused an overnight fire in a West Washington Road mobile home park. Crews were called just before 3 a.m. for a residential structure fire in what was later found to be a partially vacant home in the Ridgebrook Hills community.
For nearly an hour, firefighters worked to get control of the flames. The FWFD says one firefighter was transported to an area hospital to get checked out. Their current condition is not known.
The structure suffered heavy fire, smoke, and water damage. The fire remains under investigation at this time.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to the report of a residential structure with fire showing. Engine 6 arrived and confirmed fire was showing throughout half of the home. Engine 6 started working on extinguishing the fire and was assisted as other FWFD units arrived. The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Crews worked for nearly an hour to get the fire under control. One firefighter was transported to an area hospital to get checked out. The fire remains under investigation at this time. Assisting at the scene was T.R.A.A., N.C.E, A.E.P., NIPSCO, and City Communications.
