INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana Governor Mike Braun has signed executive orders aimed at stepping up anti-fraud efforts on unemployment and requiring jobless Hoosiers to do “meaningful work search activities each week.” Braun says the state has paid around $55 million in fraudulent unemployment claims in the last three years.
Applicants will need to be verified by the Department of Workforce Development using state and federal new hire directories, state death records, checking eligibility with data in state and federal incarceration records, and using the multi-state Integrity Data Hub.
