FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The driver of an SUV that crashed with a school bus in Fort Wayne Thursday afternoon is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The Fort Wayne Police Department says the crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. in the 600 block of West Creighton Avenue. The bus driver and one student suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Police say the SUV driver did not yield to the bus.

On February 20, 2025, at approximately 3:26PM, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a crash involving a school bus and an SUV in the 600 block of Creighton Ave. Officers arrived and located the adult, male driver of the SUV suffering from life-threatening injuries. That male was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the school bus, also an adult, male and a juvenile passenger, both suffered minor injuries and received medical treatment on scene, before being released on their own recognizance. The FACT team was paged and responded to process the scene.
Initial information indicates the driver of the SUV failed to yield to the school bus. Investigators are on scene taking measurements and collecting evidence, and the intersection is currently closed while the scene is processed. There is nothing further at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.
