INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana Governor Mike Braun is telling the U.S. Forest Service to “immediately withdraw” a plan to log and burn nearly 20,000 acres of The Hoosier National Forest.
Braun sent a letter to USFS Chief Randy Moore this month, noting the plan could threaten drinking water for over 100,000 Indiana residents.
He also says there has been increasing pushback from Hoosiers. A final determination on the plan to log 5,000 acres and burn 15,000 of the national forest is still pending.
