FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – One person was arrested early Friday morning after an hours-long standoff with police in Fort Wayne.
Officers were called to a home on Chariot Court by TRAA medics around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday as they were trying to contain someone with an advanced illness and a declining mental state.
The person was also found to be armed with a gun. Police entered the person’s home and took them into custody around 12:15 Thursday morning. Their identity has not been released.

On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, around 8:25 pm, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) were dispatched to the 11000 block of Chariot Ct. reference assist for medics (TRAA). Medics attempted to contain an individual suffering from an advanced illness that caused the individual to have a declining mental state.
Soon after, it was discovered that the subject had a firearm. Due to the situation’s increased heightened level of risk, other officers were called to the scene. These officers included members of the FWPD’sEmergency Services Team (EST) and Crisis Response Team (CRT). The situation eventually escalated to an EST, CRT, and Air Support Unit (ASU) call-out.
On Thursday, the 13th, at 12:18 am, EST made entry and removed the subject from the house without out further incident. The subject was transported by TRAA to a local hospital for evaluation.Sergeant Gutiérrez, PIO
