INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – A bill that would have allowed a casino to relocate from Rising Sun on the Ohio River 160 miles north to New Haven near Fort Wayne has been pulled.
Senator Ron Alting of Lafayette pulled the bill after over two hours of testimony from around 20 opponents before a committee.
About 12 people were testifying in support of the move. Full House Resorts wants to move because revenues in southern Indiana have plummeted since Ohio and Kentucky legalized gambling.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – A bill has been introduced in the Indiana Senate to move a southern Indiana casino to New Haven in Allen County. Senator Andy Zay is behind the bill to help Full House Resorts move the Rising Star Casino from Rising Sun.
The move would require the approval of the Indiana General Assembly and there is opposition from Senators Tyler Johnson of New Haven and Liz Brown of Fort Wayne along with state Representative Dave Heine of New Haven. The Rising Star Casino opened in 1996 and revenue has declined since casinos opened in the Cincinnati area.
