INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – People younger than 16 would be banned from using social media under a bill that passed the Indiana Senate Thursday.
The bill is now before the Indiana House. Senator Mike Bohacek of Michiana Shores says the legislation is not trying to regulate any apps but requires the permission of a parent or guardian for someone younger than 16 to use the sites. It would be up to the social media sites to develop a mechanism to prove that permission was granted.
