FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne Community Schools is welcoming incoming freshman and their families to explore the many exciting opportunities available at the District’s five traditional high schools and the Fort Wayne Virtual Academy.
FWCS released the following:
During the Freshman Orientation and Open Houses, eighth-grade students will get a firsthand look at the Freshman Schools of Success and learn how FWCS is connecting core academic learning with real-world experiences while developing essential skills, such as collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking.
At these events, families will have the opportunity to:
• Tour schools to get a feel for the high school experience
• Meet teachers, administrators and support teams
• Explore clubs, sports and extracurricular opportunities
• Learn more about the Schools of Success, pathways and the State’s new graduation requirements
Families are invited to attend multiple events to make informed decisions. Each school will highlight its unique programs and opportunities.

• North Side High School, 475 E. State Blvd., Jan. 16, 6 p.m.
• South Side High School, 3601 Calhoun St., Jan. 28, 6 p.m.
• Wayne High School/New Tech Academy, 9100 Winchester Road, Jan. 29, 5:30 p.m.
• Virtual Academy, Jan. 30, 5:30 p.m.
