INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana Republicans in the House and Senate are saying they don’t want to legalize medical marijuana.
It comes despite nearly 90 percent of Hoosiers supporting the move.
Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray says he is opposed to it and says he does not have people approaching him with “really compelling medical cases as to why it’s so beneficial.”
House Speaker Todd Huston says he does not believe the state is behind the times, saying, “If we’re behind on having fewer people use an addictive substance, I don’t know, I’m okay with that.”
Recreational marijuana is legal in Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio and medical marijuana is legal in Kentucky.
