FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Amazon strike is making its way to facilities in Indiana. Teamsters at the Amazon facility in Merrillville/Crown Point are joining the strike against the online retail giant.
Here in Fort Wayne, several local news outlets caught up with Teamsters at the US 30 Amazon facility as they hit the picket line Thursday.
The strike comes at the busiest time of year as millions of Americans are banking on deliveries before Christmas next week. Union reps say Amazon needs to pay workers more and treat employees better. Amazon says that it doesn’t expect the strikes to impact deliveries for customers this holiday season. The company argues it provides competitive wages and great benefits.
