FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department is asking for help in finding a man they believe was intoxicated when he caused a fatal crash.
Police say Alejandro Reyes-Villagomez had been drinking when he ran a red light in his Dodge Durango RT while going over 100 mph. That caused the crash at Lima and Till on May 11, 2024.

The driver of an SUV that was hit by Reyes-Villagomez ‘s vehicle died, and his daughter was seriously injured.
Villagomez was hospitalized for a time after the crash, but police believe he’s since left the area and they are asking for anyone with information to come forward.

The FWPD released the following:
On May 11, 2024 the FWPD was dispatched to a fatal accident located at the intersection of Lima Road and Till Road in Fort Wayne. Officers found the victim Fabian Garlitz unresponsive, and his passenger was his daughter who also was suffering from life-threatening injuries from the impact.
Garlitz was pronounced deceased at PRMC and his daughter was flown to Indianapolis do to the severity of her injuries sustained.
The investigation found that the suspect Alejandro Reyes- Villagomez was driving his Dodge Durango RT at over 118mph right before the crash, and that he crashed into the victim and his daughter at a speed of 115mph while southbound on Lima Road after driving through a redlight at the intersection while the victim who had a green light was making a left hand turn off of Till Road to go north onto Lima Road.
The suspect who was also hospitalized has fled Fort Wayne.

ORIGINAL STORY:
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The driver of a Ford Flex has been killed in a crash in Fort Wayne Saturday night. His vehicle was hit by a Dodge Durango that ran a red light at a high speed just after 10 p.m.
A juvenile female passenger in the Ford is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The Dodge driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Fort Wayne Police Department released the following:
On May 11, 2024, at 11:11PM, the Fort Wayne Police Department was notified of an accident with injuries at the intersection of Lima Rd and W Till Rd. Officers, as well as Fire and Medic personnel arrived and located both the driver, an adult, male, and passenger, a juvenile, female pinned in a white Ford Flex. The driver of the second vehicle, a gray Dodge Durango was an adult, male and was the sole occupant. FACT and ASU units were paged and responded to process the scene.
Initial information indicates the Durango was traveling Southbound on Lima Rd at a high rate of speed and disregarded the red-lighted signal at the intersection of W Till Rd. The Flex was traveling Eastbound on W Till Rd and was struck by the Durango. The driver of the Durango was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the Flex were transported to a local hospital, where medical personnel declared the driver deceased. The juvenile, female’s injuries were declared life-threatening.
Investigators are on scene taking measurements and collecting evidence. Lima Rd is currently closed between the intersections of W Till Rd and W Wallen Rd while the scene is processed.
There is nothing further at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.
