INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales and Attorney General Todd Rokita are asking the federal government to verify the citizenship of nearly 586,000 registered voters.
That equals around 12 percent of registered voters in the state. Morales says fair and secure elections begin with accurate voter information and that he is committed to making sure everyone who votes in the state is legally allowed to.
Morales told Democracy Docket that there were ‘concerns from county clerks.’
The two sent the letter on October 11, four days after the state’s voter registration deadline.
