WARSAW, Ind. (ADAMS) – A Warsaw man is facing 27 charges for allegedly driving to New York to have sex with a 14-year-old girl three times over the course of a year.
Tyler Harmon was arrested yesterday by Indiana State Police and will be extradited to New York. Harmon is facing nine charges of third-degree rape and five charges of sexually motivated felony. He and the girl met over social media.
Indiana State Police released the following:
A joint investigation between the New York State Police and the Indiana State Police has landed a Warsaw, IN man in jail on twenty-seven charges after he is alleged to have traveled from Indiana to New York to engage in sexual activity with a female juvenile.
This investigation, which began in February of this year, culminated with troopers and detectives with the Indiana State Police serving an arrest warrant at a residence located at 6515 W CR550 N Warsaw, IN at 10:30 a.m. on October 15, 2024. Detectives arrested Tyler Harmon, 25, on twenty-seven charges to include 5 counts of Sexually Motivated Felony, Class B, and 9 counts of Rape in the Third Degree. These charges are a result of a New York State Police investigation that began in Warren County, NY after Harmon is alleged to have contacted a 14-year-old juvenile female via social media platforms Omegle and Snapchat. Harmon is alleged to have traveled to New York to meet this juvenile on three occasions over the course of a year to engage in sexual activity.
Harmon was taken into custody at his residence without incident this morning and transported to the Kosciusko County Jail where he awaits extradition to Warren County New York.
