FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne Fire Department (FWFD) crews extinguished the second fire in four months at the same house on Saturday on the city’s southeast side.
Around 9 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to the abandoned house at 110 W. Wildwood Avenue. They found a two-story home with light smoke in the front. They located and extinguished the fire in the dining room area.
About 20 minutes was all it took to gain control of the fir. FWFD said no one was inside the house along with no working smoke detector.

At 0909, Fort Wayne firefighters were dispatched to an abandoned residence, that had previously had a fire in July 2024. Firefighters arrived on scene, three minutes later, to find a two-story residence with light smoke showing from the front of the house. Firefighters advanced a handline through the front door and extinguished a fire in the dining room area. Additional crews checked for extension and removed smoke from the structure. The fire was under control at 0929. No one was inside the house and no working smoke detector. Firefighters were assisted by FWPD, TRAA, and Neighborhood Code Enforecement. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
