UPDATE (October 9, 2024):
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – 16-year-old Brauch Wilkins-Pease is charged as an adult with murder in Fort Wayne. He is accused of shooting and killing 23-year-old Angel Maldonado shortly before 6 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Dalman Avenue near Weisser Park. Maldonado was shot several times. Wilkins-Pease is one of two people who is accused of shooting the victim, while the other suspect has not been identified as yet.

On Friday, October 4th, 2024, around 5:50 p.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 3200 block of Warsaw St. reference a shooting. Upon their arrival, they found a male outside with what appeared to be gunshot wounds on the 400 block of Dalman Ave. Officers provided first aid to the male until medics arrived. Medics assessed the male’s condition as life-threatening and promptly transported him to a local hospital.
Currently, there are no suspects and there is no threat to the community. There is limited information at this time. Detectives are working diligently to collect all available information regarding this shooting. This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
