UPDATE (July 10, 2024):
The two people killed in a fiery crash Saturday in Fort Wayne have been identified. The Allen County Coroner says they were 29-year-old Fernando Pizano and 32-year-old Mayra Vivar, both of Fort Wayne. A relative says the two were married and their deaths have been ruled accidental.
Police say two others are still hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

The Allen County Coroner released the following:
On Saturday, July 6th, 2024, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of S. Anthony Boulevard and S. Lafayette Street in Fort Wayne. First responders pronounced death at the scene.
The individual was identified as Mayra Vivar, 32, female, Hispanic of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Notification has been made to the legal next of kin. The Cause of Death is Multiple Blunt Force Injuries due to Motor Vehicle Crash and the Manner of Death is Accident.
Mayra Vivar is the 17th traffic fatality for Allen County in 2024.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutors Office and the Allen

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say two people were killed and two others are hospitalized after a fiery crash Saturday morning. Two vehicles collided at the intersection of U.S. 27 and South Anthony Boulevard just after 4 a.m. and one vehicle caught fire. Speed and alcohol are believed to have been factors. A gray sedan caught fire and a white SUV went into the ditch in the crash.
The FWPD released the following:
On July 6th,2024 at approximately 4:05 am, FWPD received a report of a 2-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of South Lafayette Street and South Anthony Blvd. FWPD and FWFD arrived and found a gray sedan on fire and a white SUV in the ditch. 2 victims were found deceased on scene, and 2 others were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening condition by Medics.
At this time, it does appear that alcohol and speed were factors in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the FWPD FACT team, Allen County Coroner’s Officer, and Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
