FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Police are investigating three shootings they think might be connected. The Fort Wayne Police Department says that three people arrived in personal vehicles at local hospitals overnight Saturday with gunshot wounds. FWPD officers were sent to two hospitals just after 3 a.m.
One person is in critical condition and two others have non-life-threatening injuries.
After gathering initial information, officers went to the intersection of N. Clinton Street and E. Washington Center Road, where several bullet casings were discovered.
Police did not release many other details but said they are continuing to investigate.
The FWPD issued the following:
Fort Wayne Police Department officers were dispatched to two local hospitals referencing three shootings that appear, at this time, to have been related. One of the victims’ status is listed as life-threatening and the other two victims’ conditions are determined to be none-life-threatening per ER staffs.
Officers are on scene near the N. Clinton St. and E. Washington Ctr. intersection where several bullet casings have been discovered. Detectives are working to determine if that scene is related to the three victims. Currently, there are no suspects in custody. There is no information, presently, of what precipitated the shootings.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
