DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a person who left the scene of a crash on Sunday afternoon.
Police said that the driver was in a van driving west on US 6 when a Chevy Tracker SUV was heading south on CR 31. That vehicle stopped at the intersection with US 6 but then pulled out into the path of the van.
The crash caused the SUV with two people inside to flip over. Bystanders were able to help both of them out of the SUV.
When police arrived witnesses said the driver of the Chevy Express van fled the scene on foot. Officers and a K-9 officer tried to track the driver but were unsuccessful.
The two people who were in the SUV were taken to the hospital for complaints of pain.
Police say they are continuing to investigate.
The DeKalb Co. Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Waterloo Fire Department, Parkview DeKalb EMS, Riverside and Jeff’s Towing, and Central Communications.
