FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says officers are investigating a suspicious death. There are not a lot of details at the moment but the FWPD said that officers were sent to a local hospital just after 2 a.m. Staff said a man had died in connection to an incident that happened on the 4500 block of Wilmette Street.
What kind of incident it was and what exactly happened have not been released as police are still trying to piece it together.
The FWPD said that homicide detectives and crime scene technicians are gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. Currently, there are no suspects. This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.

On Monday, March 11th, 2024, around 2:11 a.m., Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) officers
were dispatched to a hospital reference and incident that occurred at 4511 Wilmett St. Upon their
arrival at the hospital, the ER staff told officers that a male had died from his injuries.
It seems that there was a disturbance just before the incident occurred. Homicide detectives and
crime scene technicians are gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. Currently, there are no
suspects. This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD and the Allen County Prosecutor’s
office.
