DEKALB CO, Ind. (ADAMS) – Police think the driver of a vehicle in DeKalb County that crashed early Thursday morning had been drinking. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says that firefighters had to rescue him through the sunroof of his PT Cruiser just after midnight.
The man is identified as Sheldon Shearer, 26, of Churubusco. Police say he was driving west in the 8100 block of County Road 64 when his vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason.
The Chrysler landed on its side in a field on the south side of the road.
After fire personnel got Shearer out of the vehicle he was taken to a hospital.
The DeKalb Co. Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Concord Fire, Parkview EMS, and DeKalb County Central Dispatch.
