BLUFFTON, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force has arrested a 50-year-old Bluffton man for possessing child pornography. The officers searched the home of Jamie Bessent on Friday and arrested him on three level 5 felony charges.
A search warrant was granted after police received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

On Friday February 16, 2024 at approximately 9:30am, the Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, as part of an ongoing child pornography investigation, executed a residential search warrant in the 3500 block of County Road 100 East, Bluffton, IN.
During the search warrant officers gained enough information to establish probable cause for the arrest of Jamie L. Bessent, 50, of Bluffton. Taskforce officers took Bessent into custody without incident and transported him to the Wells County jail, where he was booked into custody on (3) counts of Possession of Child Pornography, level 5 felonies under IC 35-42-4-4.
This investigation was initiated after the ICAC Taskforce received tip information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
The Indiana State Police was assisted in this investigation by the Howard County Sheriff’s Department, Wells County Sheriff’s Department, and the Department of Homeland Security.

Under the law, criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendant named in this release is to be presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
