DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Officials say that one person was killed in a crash in DeKalb County Thursday afternoon.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, a 1999 Chevy Silverado was driving eastbound in the 500 block of West Union Street when it crossed the center line before crashing head-on into another vehicle.
The driver Silverado, identified as Chad Knott, 49 of Waterloo, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Both the driver and passenger of the other vehicle were taken to area hospitals and are reportedly in fair condition. The driver of the vehicle is said to face injuries to the leg, chest, and head, while the passenger had hip and leg injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
The DeKalb Co. Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Waterloo Marshal’s Office, Indiana State Police, Waterloo Fire Department, Butler Fire Department, DeKalb County Coroner’s Office, Tony’s Towing, Jeff’s Auto, and DeKalb Central Communications.
