WASHINGTON D.C. (ADAMS) – The Supreme Court is declining to hear a case about an Indiana high school’s transgender bathroom policies. A lower court ruled students are allowed to use restrooms according to their gender identity. The Indiana school district had appealed the ruling.
Several lawsuits across the country have been filed by transgender students against school districts’ bathroom policies. The students have argued policies restricting their access to bathrooms aligned with their gender identity violate the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause and Title IX.
