FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The FWPD says that a 38-year-old local man is facing charges after an investigation when a child accused him of sexual abuse. A CAPS officer with the Fort Wayne Police Department handled the case that also went through the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Child Services.
Not many details were released but the FWPD says Stephen J. Bush was arrested Wednesday morning and is currently in the Allen County Jail pending a hearing for several felony charges.
The Fort Wayne Police Department released the following:
A minor child disclosed being a victim of Child Sexual Abuse during an investigation conducted by Detective Ken Johnson, assigned to the FWPD Crimes Against Persons Section (CAPS). The child identified Stephen J. Bush as the defendant. A warrant was issued for his arrest once the investigation was completed. Mr. Bush was arrested for said warrant on November 29, 2023 and is currently housed at the Allen County Jail pending his Initial Hearing. Detective Johnson was assisted by the Dr. Bill Lewis Center For Children, the Indiana Department of Child Services-Allen County, the Fort Wayne Sexual Assault Treatment Center, and the Allen County Sheriff’s Department-Warrants Division.

Preliminary Charges: Four (4) counts of Child Molesting, Level 1 Felonies
One (1) count of Child Seduction, Level 2 Felony
One (1) count of Child Seduction, Level 4 Felony
One (1) count of Sexual Misconduct With A Minor, Level 4 Felony
One (1) count of Sexual Misconduct With A Minor, Level 5 Felony
