DECATUR, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana State Police say that three people are facing charges after an attempt to serve an arrest warrant Tuesday afternoon in Adams County turned into a police chase.
At around 2 p.m., ISP troopers and Fort Wayne Police Department officers attempted to arrest Kain Lee Vaughn, 28, of Bluffton at a rural Adams County home for a probation violation.
ISP says that he drove off before he could be apprehended. That led to a chase that ended in Allen County.
Police then requested a search warrant for the home located in the 7800 block of County Road 300 East. After getting the warrant, an Indiana State Police SWAT Team went back to the home at around 8:30 p.m. where three adults were taken into custody when officers found several guns and illegal drugs.
Indiana State Police released the following:
Yesterday afternoon at approximately 2:00pm state troopers from Fort Wayne Post, along with officers from Fort Wayne Police Department, attempted to serve an arrest warrant at a rural residence in the 7800 block of County Road 300 East, Adams County.
