Seth MacFarlan is donating $5 to the Entertainment Community fund. According to The Hollywood Reporter as part of the gift, ECF and MacFarlane have teamed to launch a $10 million initiative in the hopes of attracting more donors during the work stoppage that has left thousands unemployed. The Family Guy Creator already donated $1 million to ECF in July for its efforts in supporting industry professionals amid Hollywood’s dual strike.
Michael Caine is ready to retire. The two-time Oscar winner told The Independent, “I am bloody 90 now, and I can’t walk properly and all that. I sort of am retired now.” If that’s true, his final film will be The Great Escaper, the story of a Navy veteran who vanished from his retirement facility at age 89.
Crossroads will return to theaters for a limited time. Variety reports the 2002 Britney Spears vehicle will play for two nights, on Oct 23th and 25th, as part of a fan event tied to Spears’ upcoming memoir, “The Woman in Me,” which drops on Oct. 24. “Crossroads” will play in 875 locations across 24 countries and will include a bonus sing-along of two Spears songs that were part of the film.
SAG-AFTRA has given the new sports drama, The Iron Claw, permission to conduct publicity during the strike. The film, set for release in December, stars Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White as WWE Hall of Famer’s Kevin and Kerry Von Erich.
