INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – A group of lawmakers from both the Republican and Democratic parties are urging Governor Holcomb to reconsider proposed rate cuts for Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy.
ABA is a specialized treatment for children with autism.
29 representatives and 13 senators sent a letter to Holcomb last week. Freshman Representative Robb Greene authored the letter and says ABA has been helpful for his son and saved his son’s life.
The state’s Family and Social Services Administration is proposing a rate standard for treatment going into effect by early 2024 of $55.16 an hour for services from a registered behavioral technician or nearly $104 an hour for services from a physician.
