FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – General Motors says their Fort Wayne Assembly plant will have their current closure extended by a week.
The facility makes the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks and was shut down by a parts shortage for this week.
A letter to employees was obtained by the “Detroit News” which announced the plant’s extended closure.
The automaker’s two other plants that produce light-duty pickups have also experienced parts shortages recently.
GM says they are working with their supplier to resolve the problems.
Production has been suspended since August 28th. It will reportedly resume on Monday, September 11.
