INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Lottery Commission has given the state $370 million dollars in fiscal year 2023.
The payment is a near-record. Lottery sales for the year were up 2.6 percent from 2022 at $1.75 billion dollars, with scratch-offs making $1.3 billion.
The surplus money is used for retirement and pension funds for police, firefighters, and teachers and cuts the motor vehicle excise tax.
