ST. JOSEPH CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The family of an 18-month-old who fell out of a cruise ship in 2019 is able to proceed with their lawsuit against Royal Caribbean.
That’s the ruling a U.S. Appeals Court made this week – reversing a district court’s decision to throw out the lawsuit two years ago.
Now the family of Chloe Weigand can take their case to a jury.
Chloe was being held by her grandfather near an 11th-story window on the cruise ship when she fell to her death.
The toddler’s grandfather was sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty to negligent homicide.
