FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The FWFD says that a passerby called in a fire early Tuesday morning off Decatur Road. It was in a building just east of US 27.
The call came in around 12:45 a.m. after someone saw smoke coming from the building on the 5000 block of Decatur Road.
When crews arrived, smoke was coming from the roof as well as boarded-up windows. Crews found the flames and put them out in a little more than 10 minutes. No one was inside and no one was hurt.
Officials say it appears the building was mostly used for storage. It now has heavy fire damage, and moderate water and smoke damage.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
