FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana State Police are investigating the death of Allen County Jail inmate Courtney Luckadoo.
The 35-year-old man had only been in jail for about 45 minutes when he had a medical emergency and died at a hospital on May 20.
Luckadoo was in jail for physically resisting law enforcement and resisting police by fleeing in a vehicle. His cause of death is still under investigation.

The Allen County Coroner released the following on Tuesday:
The Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified on May 20, 2023, by a local hospital, regarding the death of Courtney Eugene Luckadoo, male, White, age 35, of Leo-Cedarville, Indiana. The autopsy has been completed and notification has been made to the next of kin.
Courtney Eugene Luckadoo Cause of Death is Pending, and the Manner of Death is Pending.
The incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Police Department, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
