FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Allen County Sheriff’s Department says that a man was killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday morning. It happened off Leesburg Road just before 3 a.m.
Police don’t know why his bike left the roadway east of O’Day Road but said that it hit a guard rail before coming to a stop. The man was located and pronounced dead at the scene.
Later on Tuesday, the Allen County Coroner identified him as 22-year-old Cullen Alexander Surine. Police say he was not wearing a helmet.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department released the following:
On Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at approximately 2:56 a.m., Allen County Police Officers responded to the 7300 Blk. of Leesburg Road, east of O’Day Road, for a crash involving a motorcycle. Upon arriving, and after conducting the initial investigation, it was determined that the male driver and sole occupant of the motorcycle was traveling north-west on Leesburg Road, when for unknown reasons he went off of the north side of the roadway at the curve and struck the guard rail. The driver, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. The identity of the deceased along with the cause and manner of death will be released by the Allen County Coroner.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified and made notifications to the next of kin of the deceased individual that was involved in a motorcycle crash in the 7300 block of Leesburg Road, Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana, at about 02:55 hours, Tuesday, April, 2023. He has been positively identified as Cullen Alexander Surine, male, White, age 22, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Surine was the operator of a motorcycle that left the roadway and struck a guardrail. Mr. Surine was pronounced deceased at the scene by Arcola Fire Department.
Cullen Alexander Surine’s Cause of Death is Blunt Force Injuries due to Motorcycle Vehicle Crash, and the Manner of Death is Accident
Cullen Alexander Surine is the 13th traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2023.
The incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Police Department, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
