FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne Police say that raided five homes on Thursday and apprehended nine people to break up a fentanyl ring.
Those nine people included a juvenile that police say were selling pills and had operations at the different locations.
It began around 6 a.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Narcotics Division served search warrants at three homes on Chartwell Dr., and homes on Plaza Dr., and Lillie St. as part of an investigation into the sale of counterfeit blue M30 pills that police say contained fentanyl.
FWPD officials say that during the raids, police seized 275 grams of fentanyl and 5 firearms (3 rifles and two handguns). One of the handguns was reported as stolen. Fort Wayne Police say they began looking into the operation as early as last month when they fitted a criminal informant with recording equipment and $1,000 to purchase pills from one of the men arrested.
FWPD officials say this investigation is ongoing.

The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Narcotics Division has been investigating the sale of counterfeit blue M30 pills; containing Fentanyl. This investigation led to the service of search warrants at the five (1909 Chartwell Dr., 1933 Chartwell Dr., 2109 Chartwell Dr., 3817 Plaza Dr., and 4402
Lillie St.) locations. During this investigation, detectives seized 275 grams of Fentanyl and 5 firearms (3 rifles and two handguns). One of these handguns were stolen. Fort Wayne detectives were assisted by members of Allen County Sheriff’s Department SWAT, Indiana State Police ERT, Fort Wayne Police Department EST, FBI Safe Street Task Force, and Department of Homeland Security.
This investigation is still currently ongoing.

Fort Wayne Police were looking into the operation as early as late last month, when they fitted a criminal informant with recording equipment and $1,000 to purchase pills from a man identified as Mu Star Pa.
