DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department says that two people who were on a motorcycle Wednesday were taken to the hospital after crashing into an SUV that was hauling a boat.
It happened shortly after 6 p.m. on the 1300 block of State Road 8, near State Road 327.
Police say the motorcycle was behind an SUV when it slowed for stopped traffic. The motorcycle driver, Kyle Landrum from Fort Wayne, was unable to avoid hitting the boat and trailer.
Landrum and his passenger, Kayla Griffith from Garrett, were both thrown from the motorcycle. Paramedics took both to the hospital for treatment.
Their conditions are not known. The driver of the SUV was not hurt.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash and it remains under investigation.
