STEUBEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office is investigating some complaints of houses that were damaged by projectiles early Tuesday morning.
Sheriff’s deputies first responded to a residence in the 1100 block of East CR 300 N at about 2:30 a.m. on a report of a house being damaged by a projectile. A preliminary investigation indicated that a projectile came from a passing vehicle traveling eastbound on CR 300 N, according to police. A second report came from a residence in the 2400 block of East CR 100 N just after 3:30 a.m.
Initial responding deputies also located evidence at the second incident indicating that a projectile also came from a passing vehicle traveling westbound on CR 100 N. Later that that afternoon just after 12:30 p.m., deputies responded to a third compliant of a house being damaged by a projectile in the 5300 block of East Metz Rd.
Evidence located at the third incident again, indicated that the projectile came from a passing vehicle traveling on Metz Rd. It’s believed that the third incident happened at around 2:00 a.m. that morning.
At this time, the suspect vehicle can only be described as a vehicle with a loud exhaust. It does appear that all three incidents are related along with a fourth incident that’s being investigated by the Indiana State Police however, police say there is no evidence indicating that anyone was specifically being targeted.
