INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana’s Democratic lawmakers want to be arguing over tax rebates, not waiting for a new abortion law. Democrats at the statehouse yesterday accused Republicans of a ‘bait and switch.’
The legislature was supposed to be in special session yesterday to vote on Governor Holcomb’s $225 tax rebate checks.
Instead, Indianapolis Democrat Jean Breaux says Republicans are crafting a new abortion law ‘behind closed doors.’ Breaux and his fellow Democrats didn’t want the tax rebate checks, and don’t want a new abortion law. Indiana’s special session is now scheduled to start on July 25th.
