FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police are investigating and asking for the public’s help in a shooting incident yesterday morning.
Dispatch calls indicated that someone was firing a gun around 11:21 a.m. before reportedly running off.
Initially, police couldn’t figure out where the shots were coming from. Local media already at the scene tracked casings to Holton Ave. and Creighton Ave.
Police say that a couple of people were questioned but not arrested in connection to the incident.

FWPD officials released the following:
The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigation a shooting that occurred in the area of Holton Ave. and Creighton Ave. today (5/11/22) around 11:21am. FWPD responded to a shots fired call were witnesses heard shots and saw someone running immediately afterward. It is not known what the intended target of the shooting was, nor was anyone struck or injured. Initial information was limited and inconsistent. Officers followed up on all the initial leads of the investigation and two people were detained, then released a short time afterward. No arrests have been made in the incident.
Multiple witnesses reported seeing someone running from the direction of the shooting, but no one told Police that they witnessed the shooting. Police were unsure where that actual shooting took place, and were assisted by media to the location of the shell casings at Holton/Creighton. The casing were collected and placed into evidence.

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
