FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Aging & In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana (AIHS) joins the Administration for Community Living (ACL) in recognizing the nation’s observance of Older Americans Month during the month of May. This year, the theme is ‘Age My Way,’ an opportunity for all of us to explore the many ways older adults can remain in and be involved with their communities.
The programs and services AIHS offer such as Meals on Wheels, Case Management and PACE have been critical in keeping older adults safe and independent in their own homes. AIHS also offers an Aging & Disability Resource Center to provide information, assistance and referrals to older adults, people with disabilities and family caregivers throughout northeast Indiana.
AIHS released the following:
“The older adult population is growing, rapidly,” says AIHS President & CEO Connie Benton Wolfe. “We are seeing over 4,000 calls a month into our ADRC – numbers we’ve never seen before, even at the height of COVID. With the Baby Boomer Generation turning 65, we expect this demand for service to continue over the next several years.”
AIHS is committed to continuing to research, educate and create innovative programs that help older adults in our community.
