FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Police in Fort Wayne say they’re pulling more guns off the street this year.
For the first three months of the year, Fort Wayne’s gang unit says it has seized about 50 guns.
That puts the city on pace to take more than 200 guns for the year, which would be the most in three years.
In speaking with WANE-TV, Fort Wayne Detective Gary Hensler says the jump in gun seizures is part of a crackdown on gangs in Fort Wayne that he blames for the city’s recent spike in shootings and killings.
