FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A Garrett man was arrested Wednesday morning in connection to a sex crime that was reported on March 13.
There are not many details on the investigation but we do know that Mark Michaels, 57, is facing charges of Rape, Sexual Battery, and Strangulation stemming from the incident earlier this month.
FWPD officials released the following:
Members of the Fort Wayne Police Department Crimes Against Persons Unit apprehended Mark Vincent Michels this morning in Garrett, Indiana without incident. This incident is in connection to a sex crime that was reported March 13th, 2022.
Arrested: Mark Vincent Michaels, 57 years of age, from Garrett, Indiana
Preliminary Charges: Rape, Sexual Battery, and Strangulation.
The FWPD was assisted by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the Garrett Police Department, and the Fort Wayne Sexual Assault Treatment Center.
