More health care workers are expected to have their first COVID vaccine dose when they show up today. They had a deadline to meet yesterday as part of President Biden’s mandate. It affects about ten million employees at 76-thousand hospitals and nursing homes at risk of losing federal funding. The Supreme Court allowed the mandate to continue after blocking the same requirement for big businesses. Some states have challenged it, giving workers until February 14th. But all must be fully vaccinated a month after their first dose.
While an R&B singer is being sued for $20 million dollars. A woman claims Chris Brown drugged and sexually assaulted her on a yacht docked in Florida just before New Year’s Eve in 2020. She claims he even texted later, urging her to take a morning-after pill to avoid getting pregnant. The lawsuit says she took the pill but didn’t report what happened to police for fear it would be an embarrassment. Brown hasn’t commented on the allegations.
