Another new poll is showing voters believe the Capitol attack one year ago today was a threat to democracy. This one is from ABC News and Ipsos, putting the number at 72-percent. When split along party lines, nearly all Democrats agree. But only 45-percent of Republicans feel the same way with 52-percent believing the rioters were actually protecting democracy. Most also think former President Trump is responsible for the violence.
While Virginia is declaring a state of emergency as another winter storm moves in. It’s expected to start dumping snow tonight, as much as eight inches in some areas. This comes as several counties are still struggling to recover and clean up from severe weather this week that caused massive power outages and stranded drivers on Interstate 95. Several schools between Richmond and D.C. have already canceled classes for today and tomorrow.
