FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say a woman is dead after being hit Wednesday night while walking at State and Parnell, close to Northside High School.
Police are now looking for a reported tan or silver SUV that took off and will have heavy front-end damage.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the following:
The Allen County Coroner’s Office was contacted at about 2125 hours on August 25, 2021 and notified of the death of the pedestrian struck motor vehicle hit skip crash located in the 1000 block of East State Boulevard. Death was pronounced on scene by Paramedics. The deceased has been positively identified as Keilan Melisa Moreira, female Hispanic 21 years of age, from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
An autopsy has been completed and the next of kin has been notified. The Cause of Death is Blunt Force Injuries due to Motor Vehicle versus Pedestrian Crash and the Manner of Death is Accident.
Keilan Melisa Moreira is the 32nd fatal traffic accident in Allen County for 2021.
This remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
